"Once those papers leave their hands, somebody has got to clean that up," Rep. Sylvester Taylor, D-St. Louis County, said to his colleagues earlier in the week.
Rep. Sylvester Taylor, D-St. Louis County, told a story about his cousin whose murder while incarcerated was made to look like a suicide. Taylor ended with an emotional plea to both sides of the House.
"This conversation never came up until our President is named Barack Hussein Obama. And now all of the sudden because he does not have a name like you're used to, like the name of a president you have heard in the past, this is a huge problem," said Rep. Sylvester Taylor-D, St. Louis.
"We attempt to pass the same legislation without seeing where somebody had serious problems with the bill. What you've done is say hey, look, I know that this portion, if we do this, there is a possibility that we can get this deal done," said Rep. Sylvester Taylor, D-St. Louis County.
