Wrap: The bill introduced by Sen. Brian Munzlinger would prohibit the Department of Revenue from assessing points on a person's driving record if they were issued a red light or speed camera ticket.

Munzlinger says the bill is necessary and says speed cameras will only be allowed in certain places.

Description: Those cameras will only be allowed in three places: in school zones during school hours only, in construction zones only when workers are present, and travel safe zones.

There was no opposition to the bill and the committee took no action on the bill.

The bill was introduced by Republican Senator Brian Munzlinger and he said it is a good middle-of-the-road bill.

Transportation Committee chairman Senator Mike Kehoe says the process to implement a red light camera is already strict.
