Wrap: A spokesperson released a statement saying it's too early to speculate on the program's implementation, costs, or impact. And that's all that was said. Multiple calls and emails to the spokesperson went un-returned.
Back in July, Governor Jay Nixon signed the bill into law saying welfare recipients who give the state reasonable cause will be drug tested. And if they test positive - benefits are gone for three years.
Months later, the department in charge of this law still won't comment on it's progress.
Calls to the bill sponsor, Republican Ellen Brandom also were not returned.
Reporting from the state Capitol, I'm Matt Evans.
