Gun control legislation sparse in 2008 legislative session

Intro: After the recent Kirkwood shooting, some Missouri legislators are questioning gun control. 

Brooke Hasch (hash) has more from the State Capitol.

House Speaker Pro Tem Republican Bryan Pratt said Missouri has gone a long way in the past two years to protect Missourians second amendment rights.

Pratt says both Republicans and Democrats have worked to protect those rights so that Missourians can protect themselves.

Description: At the end of the day if you think about it is, is that we want folks who are law abiding, good folks to have the right to protect themselves. If they choose to they choose to. If they don't choose to they don't. I don't see any legislation upcoming that will curb those rights at all.

Democratic Senator Yvonne Wilson said she would like to see the conceal and carry laws repealed in wake of the shooting.

Wilson has yet to file legislation concerning conceal and carry laws.
