Christine Slusser has more from the state Capitol.
Heavy rainfall is bad news for those who burn leaves but not to those who enjoy composting.
Chris Whitley, Public Affairs Specialist for the Environmental Protection Agency's Region 7, which covers Missouri, says those who compost should rejoice over the rain.

| Description: "A little moisture in a compost pile is not a bad thing, actually. It can help hasten the natural break down of those materials into healthful soil elements." |
Whitley says the agency does not recommend burning leaves because it is harmful to the environment.
He also says those who try would have a tough time because of the leaves are rain-sodden.
From the state Capitol, I'm Christine Slusser.
