Less than one day after the Missouri Ethics Committee announced that it would call for the return of any campaign contributions that exceeded the recently reinstated limits, Jay Nixon and his campaign began preparing to comply with the decision in full.
The committee left room for politicians to keep their excess funds if they can demonstrate a hardship in their return.
Oren Shur, Nixon's Communications Director, says the committee made the right decision.

Governor Blunt says he will wait until he recieves his letter from the committee before his campaign decides how to proceed.

Oren Shur, Jay Nixon's communications director, says the decision to return over-limit contributions will cost the campaign over one million dollars.
Other campaigns, including that of Governor Matt Blunt, have yet to address the issue.
Shur says the Missouri Ethics Committee made the right call in demanding the funding return, and was quick to criticize those who did not immediately comply.
