Representative Bowman says he will not resign his position, but his fate as a member of House committees is up in the air.

Bowman currently serves on two committees, including the Budget committee, which determines the allocation of state funds. 

House Speaker Rod Jetton says it's up to Democratic Leader Jeff Harris to decide whether Bowman should serve such an important committee.  

Harris says it is too early to consider whether Bowman should be removed from the committee.

Bowman spoke with two reporters Thursday, but offered no comment to KMOX.

St. Louis County Representive John Bowman diclined to give details about his credit and bank fraud charges Thusday.

He says he will be exonorated and will not resign from the House.

Democratic leader Jeff Harris says it is important not to jump to conclusions.

Harris says it is too early to consider whether Bowman should be removed from his committees.
