Land redevelopment bill moves to Senate floor.

One of the legislative session's most controversial bills is on its way to the state Senate's floor.

Dustin Blanchard tells us about the bill to restrict seizure of land for private development.

The Senate Economic Development committee voted seven to zero to move m bill to the full Senate.

The bill would restrict when local governments can seize private land for private profit-making redevelopment by others -- a move bill sponsor and committee chair Senator John Griesheimer says will stop widespread abuse.

Some opponents don't think the bill goes far enough to protect landowners.
