President Bush arrived at Columbia Airport on Tuesday

President Bush's plane landed in Columbia on his way to several meetings in the capital city.

Tim Walker has more from Jefferson City.

Fire trucks blocked the entrance to the runway and a bomb sniffing dod checked every camera and bag in the area.

And finally Air Force One arrived to a flurry of camera shutters.

The president touched down about 25 minutes late and after a few handshakes immediately left for the capitol city.

Meanwhile, across the street, protestors played a guessing game.

The motorcade never did end up passing the several dozen protestors who stood beside the road for several hours holding signs and chanting.

Several supporters of President Bush came out for the Presidents visit to the Capital city.

"We saw his face and he waved, and that's what we wanted!"

Marilyn Rooney waved her flag from the second floor balcony of a Jefferson City architecture firm hoping to catch a glimpse of the Presidential motorcade on its way through the city.

Rooney and several other supporters wanted the President to know he had support here in Missouri.

"(We) made him make a banner, saying 'we support our President', so he would look at us and we could wave at him, and it worked, cause he waved at us!"
