State Capital Bureau
Missouri studemts usually study dinosaurs in their science classes, but soon the subject may appear in a civics curriculum as well.
Rachel Schaff tells why the Hadrosaurus is a hot topic at the capital.
State representatives prepare to debate a bill to make a two ton, duck - billed herbivore Missouri's official state dinosaur.
Local archeologists excavated a set of Hadrosaurus bones from Marble Hill, Missouri, several years ago -- the only dinosaur bones ever found in the state.
Representative Jason Crowell -- one of the bill's sponsors -- says he was surprised by how many Missouri kids support the legislation.
If the bill passes, the Hadrosaurus, whose name means big lizard, may soon be the next state symbol. From the capital, I'm Rachel Schaff.
