Governor's tax plan defeated

Gov. Holden expressed disappointment today over the legislative defeat of his education tax plan. Josh Hinkle has the story from Jefferson City.

The Senate Ways and Means Committee destroyed any hope of Gov. Holden's tax plan passing through Missouri's latest special session.

The governor sought to eliminate four tax breaks--primarily affecting businesses--to provide additional funding for education.

But the governor says he won't give up the fight for education funding in Missouri.

The plan failed twice earlier this year and could've raised up to $80 million a year.
