Proposed Senate Bill Requires Care Centers to Give Flu and Pneumonia Shot to Elderly Residents

State Capital Bureau Elderly care center residents will receive flu and pneumonia shots if a proposed senate bill passes.

St. Louis city senator Harry Kennedy is sponsoring a bill which would require long term, adult day care, and assisted living facilities to offer the shots.

A representative from the the Capitol Health Care Center says they, and many other care centers, already offer the shots to staff and residents.

Under Kennedy's bill, Medicare and Medicaid would pay for the shots.
