What is the bang for your buck? When living in Missouri, it is a lot. Julie Kroenig has more in Jefferson City.
Missouri is the seventh cheapest state in the nation to live in, according to a recent survey.
The study looked at the average cost of an item in the nation compared to each state.
Missouri scored about 92, which means if something costs about one dollar on average in the nation, then it costs about 92 cents on average in the state of Missouri.
Jim Grebing, spokesman for the Department of Economic Development, says that Missouri is consistently one of the cheapest states to live in.
Retail sales, groceries, housing, utilities, transportation and health care are all factored into this survey.
Grebing also says that good transportation and access to utilities make Missouri a cheaper place to live.
For KMOX News, this is Julie Kroenig in Jefferson City, Missouri.
