House Committee Proposes Increased Access to Life-Saving Drug

Increasing access to a life-saving drug is the goal of legislation up for debate in a Missouri House Committee.

Epinepherin is a drug used to reverse the effects of a violent allergic reaction.

If administered early in the reaction, it could be life-saving.

Representative Barbara Fraser from St. Louis is sponsering the bill that would increase access to the drug.

Right now, only certified technicians are allowed to administer epinepherin on patients even though emergency technicians are the first to arrive at an emergency.
