Lawmakers Seek to Increase Retirement Benefits

State Capital Bureau Missouri Lawmakers are looking for more money - - for themselves. Kurt Silver has the story from Jefferson City.

Rep. Mary Hagan-Harrell sponsored a bill that would increase retirement benefits for lawmakers while reducing the eligibility requirements. If passed, lawmakers would see a 33 percent increase in monthly benefit and a 33 percent decrease in the amount of time served to be eligible for these benefits.
