New Reason Raised for Pay Hike

The Rules Committee of Missouri's Senate has recommended rejection of a proposed legislative pay increase. In the meantime, Jennifer Horton reports some members of the committee have come up with a new reason for taking the pay raise:

Some committee members predict a constitutional crisis if they reject their own raises.

Their claim Missouri's constitution prevents legislators from getting paid anything if the pay increase recommendation is rejected.

Legislative staff say that's not the case.

But Rules Committee Chairman Ed Quick, says he believes a passing a pay schedule is manditory.
