St. Louis Lawmakers Want Answers

Several St. Louis City legislatures say they want to find out the reason behind the possible departure of Ralston Purina Company. Mary Jackson has the story from the state capitol.

Ralston Purina's announcement took many St. Louis City representatives by surprise.

Representative O.L. Shelton said the legislature needs an asnwer before the state can take any action.

Contents: We have to find out the reasons that it's leaving. If it's leaving because of lack of resources that we may be able to proivide, of course, we will do everything in the legislature to assist them.

Shelton said Ralston Purina's move would affect several jobs and cause a major loss in revenue for St. Louis.
