Senate approves hospital purchase oversight

The Missouri Senate is moving quickly on legislation that could impact the proposed sale of Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis. We get the story from Susan Batt in Jefferson City.

Under a proposal approved by the Senate, the attorney general and the Department of Health would have to approve sale of the not-for-profit Deaconess Hospital to Tenant Corporation, a large for-profit company.

St. Louis County Senator Betty Sims suggested the new guidelines.
