Tax Refund Size in Court

State Capital Bureau Lawyers for Missouri's State Auditor went to court today in a fight challenging the administration's estimates of tax refunds. Phill Brooks has the story from Jefferson City:

State Auditor Margaret Kelly argues that refunds triggered by the state's Hancock tax limit will be much greater than the administration has estimated.

At issue before the Cole County Circuit Court is whether the Republican Auditor has authority to sue on this issue...and whether the administration can be defended by the Democratic Attorney General.

The Democratic Governor Mel Carnahan charges Kelly is just playing politics.
